The Pet Hospital

For Maxi — They Are Family With the new regulations and changes in ownership, I can sadly say that this is now the last place I would want to find myself with a beloved pet in an emergency. A veterinary hospital should never be just a business. When an animal's life is at risk, rules, regulations, administrative procedures and which veterinary practice they are registered with should NEVER come before saving that life. I lost my Maxi because, when we desperately needed help, the system failed us. During the long weekend in June, Maxi became seriously unwell. There was no vet available in Waterford who would take him. I was told the only option was Wexford, but at that moment I simply could not get him there. I called veterinary facilities all around Waterford, desperately asking somebody to help my baby. Nobody would take him because we were clients of the “Pet Hospital.” Please think about that for a moment. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I wasn't asking anyone to break the law. I was asking for help for a living, suffering animal in an emergency. And my Maxi, 16 months old puppy died in my arms that afternoon. There are no words to describe what it feels like to hold someone you love while their life is slipping away, knowing that you tried to find help and couldn't get it. This is wrong. In an emergency, it should not matter which veterinary practice an animal normally attends. It should not matter whose client they are. It should not matter which company owns which facility or what administrative rules are in place. If an animal is suffering and their life is in danger, SAVE THEM. Deal with the paperwork, regulations, payments and administrative questions afterwards. Because to you, they may be another patient. To us, they are family. They wait for us at the door. They trust us completely. They give us unconditional love. They are there during some of the hardest moments of our lives, asking for almost nothing in return. And when they desperately need us, surely we owe them everything we can possibly do to save them. Maxi wasn't “just a dog.” He was my baby. He was deeply loved. He was part of my family. And he died in my arms while I was desperately trying to find someone who would help him. I will have to live with that afternoon for the rest of my life. Please, veterinary professionals, owners of veterinary practices and those who make these regulations: never allow rules about where an animal is registered to become more important than the life in front of you. SAVE THEM FIRST. Because for many of us, they truly are among the best and most precious souls we will ever have in our lives!!

Our 11 year old Izzy loves to visit the Pet Hospital - everyone is so friendly and the appointments are spaced in such a way that the lobby is not over crowded. It would be great to have the same vet, but all are very professional.

I went there to give flea treatment to my puppy and I was treated extremely well by Ciara. She was very kind, polite, professional and showed a lot of knowledge about pets. She applied the flea treatment herself and gave me several tips. It was excellent service and I was very satisfied. Thank you, Ciara.

Lovely vet,great location ,i brough my kitten Xena down to the them cause she had issue with her eyes and a cold .I will say all the staff down there are very professional ,kind ,caring ,thoughtful and friendly .they gave Xena and injection to help with the cold and did wonders thank God 🙏🙏.they have a lol the equipment and tools for dogs and cats .i would recommend this vet to all pet lovers you won't be disappointed 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Brian Brown.

Used to be a fabulous practice when Tadgh was there, would avoid at all costs now, EXTREMELY over priced, rude and care of animal is not top priority anymore
